(Lucknow): The Special CBI Court in Lucknow delivered its verdict in the case of State v.

Lal Krishna Adwani and others, also known as the 1992 Babri Masjid Demolition case. The

Hon’ble Court has acquitted all the 32 accused in the case which includes prominent BJP

leaders LK Advani, Kalyan Singh and Uma Bharti.

The verdict was delivered by Justice Surendra Kumar Yadav in a 2000+ pages judgement and

held that the demolition was not premeditated and there is no criminal conspiracy behind it.

The criminal cases were registered against the accused under section 153A, 153B, 505, 147

and 149 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The court gave a clean chit to all the accused and

said that they tried to stop the mob and did not incite them. “Those who climbed on the dome,

they are anti-social elements” the court stated.

The audio and the video clips submitted by the CBI in this case were not relied on as its

authenticity could not be proved.
