Babri Masjid Demolition Case Verdict On September 30
A special CBI judge Surendra Kumar Yadav has fixed September 30 for judgment in the decades-old Babri Masjid demolition case, in which former deputy PM LKAdvani, BJP stalwarts Murli Manhoar Joshi, Kalyan Singh and Uma Bharti are among the overall 32 accused.
The mosque in Ayodhya was demolished by Kar sevaks on December 6,1992.
The actual case was split into two parts, with the land dispute and issue having already been settled by the SC. This is a criminal case involving criminal conspiracy.
The SC had used extraordinary constitutional powers under Article 142 of the constitution, the bench also transferred the pending separate trial in a Rae Bareilly Magistrate court to the special CBI court in Lucknow.
All hearings were completed by the court earlier in this month, with appearances of top leaders before the court through video conferencing. All statements were recorded.
