Over four months after virtual hearing in urgent matter began due to the outbreak of the Corovavirus pandemic, the Bombay High Court will resume physical court proceeding in criminal appeals cases from August 31 to September 15,2020. Two division benches and two single benches will take up final hearings of criminal appeals in the High Court. The HC will continue virtual hearings with all other courts, which would take up their regular assignments till September 30. As the precautionary measure in view of COVID 19, special procedure for physical hearings issued by the court’s registry, hearing of only criminal appeals will be conducted physically in the court. At a time, limited number of Advocates will be allowed to enter in the Court room with the intent to observe, social distancing and wearing of mask is compulsory. Till the matter is called out, the Advocates should wait in the waiting room, in which arrangement have been made so that lawyers observe social distancing norms and use a face mask, stated in HC notice The High Court also stated, If one of the Advocate/ party is not willing for physical hearing, then that Advocate/ Party can be heard through video conference.
